Product Overview

Mayan “Tzolkin” Calendar

  • Hand-casted resin sculpture looks and feels like stone but is much lighter.
  • Dimensions: 12″ Diameter
  • Handmade by Mayan artisans in the Yucatan Peninsula.

The calendar system used by cultures in Mesoamerica dates back to at least the 5th century BC. The Mayans used a complex calendar system made up of three calendars. This calendar is called the “Tzolkin” and consists of 13 numbers that count the days. This calendar was sculpted with clay, molded, and poured in a special resin mixture that has grounded stone which gives it the feel of natural stone.
