The calendar system used by cultures in Mesoamerica dates back to at least the 5th century BC. The Mayans used a complex calendar system made up of three calendars. This calendar is called the “Haab” and consists of 18 months in the outer ring and 20 days in the inner ring. A marvelous piece that was sculpted with clay, molded, and poured in a special resin mixture that has grounded stone which gives it the feel of natural stone.
